My Premonition

Last Sunday I decided to get ahead of the game and pre-write a few of my weekly blog posts. I felt a sickness coming on and I knew I better get started on my weekly tasks before I got any worse. Well, I am sure glad I did! I started with a 102 fever for three days, threw up more times in one week than I have in my lifetime, couldn't eat, coughed hysterically until my chest was aching, sneezing and every other symptom of a cold/flu you could think of. To make matters worse, my three year old daughter had the same thing. This made for a very depressing, stressful work week and home life. The blogs had to be put on the back burner, the house had to go uncleaned and meals would go uncooked. Thank you for frozen pizzas and canned soup. Even though my daughter and I got plenty of shut eye after she came home from grandmas and I came home from work, it felt as though we never rested. The illness took over our bodies for the entire week. Finally, on Friday we both started to perk up a bit and get back to what seemed like a normal life. We weren't coughing as much, we didn't feel the need to sleep 24/7 and we actually got out of the house.
So I am glad to say that I actually have something to write about today for the GBU, a link up sharing the good, bad and ugly of my weekend. It's good to be back! Hopefully next time my premonition will be winning the lottery!

The Good: I bought the book the Ellen Degeneres wrote called "Seriously...I'm Kidding". It is by far one of the best books I've ever read. She is one of the funniest people I know. It seemed like every other sentence I was cracking up. It gives you a good feeling and teaches you a lot about life. If you haven't read it I say, go get a copy now!

The Bad: I rarely get ice cream cravings but when I do I want it right then and there. Being that this last weeks diet consisted of next to nothing, I figured I could afford to pack on a couple of calories. So we made a little trip to Dairy Queen and I spent yesterday afternoon scarfing down this heaping pile of goodness. A strawberry chocolate coated waffle bowl. Brain freeze yep. Belly ache yep. Next time I will reconsider what type of calories I wish to pack on!

The Ugly: My daughter has turned into little miss queen of the universe. You know you are in for trouble when everything you tell her she says "But...this or that" or "Mom, I know!".  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Well, she had a good day this past Saturday. She likes to watch cartoons on my computer. So, I decided to let her use my laptop and watch a couple of cartoons. The problem is she doesn't know when to get off the computer and go to bed. So here she is looking all little miss innocent, then I tell her it was time for bed and she throws the biggest fit. Needless to say it will be awhile before that happens again. A kids life, it's so tough.
