Marvelous Monday: GBU

Good morning friends!
As usual I am dragging my feet to get ready and get out of the house.
Working on a Monday morning at 8am, who made up this rule anyway? I say we take a re-vote! Who's with me on having a four day weekend and a three day work week from here on out?
Okay well I guess I better look at the positive side of things and say this.....

I guess we should get down to business and recap the good, bad and ugly of the weekend (GBU).
I can't say that my weekend was full of oohhhsssss and ahhhhhhs but it was pretty relaxing.

The good...spending some quality time with a genuine close friend. My friend Stacy is such a sweetheart. We were able to meet up for lunch and vent all of our worries away at McAlister's. We did some browsing at Garden Ridge and then spent the first half of the Super Bowl entertaining each other. I mean seriously, I don't see what is so exciting about it besides the commercials? Even half time was a drag in my opinion. By the way, did you have any favorite commercials?

The bad...Madison truly tested my patience this weekend. I think I am going to have to crack the whip and settle her attitude problem stat! Her bossiness, her back talk and her constant NO MOMMY NO yelled phrases are starting to take its toll. I would say the terrible twos are the almost terrible fours! She thinks she's a big girl now and doesn't have to listen. Well, looks like her and I will have a show down very soon.

The ugly...I went to the dentist Friday morning to have the area where my wisdom teeth were taken out looked at. I was the lucky winner of two dry sockets. So the dentist stuffed some medicated packing in each hole, clove flavored. My god, was this the nastiness taste on the planet. I seriously spent have the day spitting into the trash can beside my office desk and gagging. It tasted like I had been eating spice candles all day. Gross. I thought that was bad, until come 5:00 I gagged for the last time and the packing in the pain filled tooth fell out. My next appt isn't until Wed morning, where they planned on putting the second packing, if the first one had stayed. The dentist gave me medicated injections to squirt into the holes to numb the area until then, just in case. Well in my case, I have to use these injections until Wed at 8am. Thank the lord I still have 20 pain pills to get me by. Oh and the worksheet they handed to me on Friday, it states these holes won't heal for another 6 weeks! Ugh!!!!! Has anyone else had this experience and how did you cope?

See those bottom teeth turned sideways? Those are the wisdom teeth I had removed and the root to now all of my problems!

  2. Ugh, sorry about your dry socket problems, lady! That sounds terrible. And I'm pretty sure every little girl goes through the only saying "NO" phase... blah! Sending prayers your way!

  3. OH NO, dry sockets are the WORST. Feel better soon! And I would totally support your four-day-work-week plan. :)

    1. Yes they are! I am so glad this is a one time thing. I will be SO glad when this is all over! The three day work plan would take some of the pain away at least!

  4. Eek! Dry sockets!! I'm pretty sure I'm only a stones throw away from my little girl back talking...and that's really only because she doesn't talk at the moment. Actually, surprisingly, no is the only word she hasn't tried to mimic. It's only a matter of time...

    1. I was fortunate to have not dealt with the terrible twos but she is making up for that now! The little miss diva attitude and the no's are driving me up the wall. I guess I am getting what I dished out to my mom years and years ago! You never really realize how much you appreciate your parents until you have a child of your own!
