The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (GBU)

I am counting my blessings this morning. I do this every day anyway but after the tragic events on Friday morning I am ever so grateful for what I have in my life. A roof over my head, a loving family, food on the table, a well paying job, a beautiful daughter and quality time spent with friends. I have had a heavy heart since the second I heard of the CT shootings. All of those young, innocent beautiful children taken at such a young age. And the mother and staff of the school that died protecting them. Today I am starting with the Ugly of the weekend. It is has been on my mind and I wish it wasn't as bad and severe as this. That day will never be erased from my mind, heart and soul. Having a three year old to come home to unharmed, safe and healthy is all I could ever ask for. To see her live a full everlasting life would be a blessing.

The Ugly:
The pain and suffering I feel for each one of those darling people. Thinking about the grief, the sadness and knowing that we can do so little to show our support and condolences is heartbreaking. It will be one of the many days that changed the world forever. No words can explain the feeling of every person who has heard the news or was a part of the loss. 12/14/12 a day God took some of his angels back home.

The Bad:
I don't know about anyone else but anytime I receive one of these fabulous letters in the mail I cringe. Missing work, finding the downtown office where I am supposed to attend, sitting among strangers all day waiting for your name to be called and nervously answering all of the questions asked that day. Luckily due to a wedding and an upcoming surgery I will be sending in a deferral for this summons to jury duty. Hopefully everything works out in my favor this time.

 The Good:
Madison and I spent Saturday afternoon making these tasty treats. We got the idea off of Pinterest and said why not!?!? Ice cream cones covered in green icing and candy decorations. They aren't Martha Stewart approved but they turned out deliciously cute!
