Happy What Day?

From the looks of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter everyone and their mother visited a pumpkin patch or apple orchard this weekend.
I would be one of those people.
Our forecast consisted of sunshine, a cool steady breeze and temperatures in the mid 70's.
Last year, I remember being bundled up in fleece hoodies, beanies and boots!
This year consisted of boots only and that was simply a fashion statement.

The weekend was a little more on the relaxing side which is a change from the normal crazy roller coaster ride my life has been on.

1. Friday, Madison had her first field trip to the pumpkin patch with her preschool! They picked out their own pumpkins, made t-shirts and took a class photo! So cute!

2. Madison (sporting her t-shirt) and I went and saw Monsters University at the dollar theatre. It is always nice to spend some QT together and on a budget! The movie was hilarious! Of course we stuffed our faces with popcorn making it that much better!

3. Saturday we attended a friends wedding where we met some new friends, had a wonderful dinner and spent the night listening to great music! I even got to wear my little black dress and new red flats!

4. Sunday we went with my family to the pumpkin patch! It has to be my favorite all time fall activities! Madison picked out three mini pumpkins while I took one too many photos! She is a little poser and I love it!

There is nothing better than forgetting about the housework, putting off the responsibilities and living life to the fullest. I am grateful to have the circle I have and know that so many people are supportive and love me. It definitely makes starting a Monday morning a little easier even though it is Columbus Day which has no effect on my work day.

Happy Monday to you! What do you have to look forward to this week?

Back To Life, Back To Reality

via
On most Monday's I feel refreshed. I feel like I accomplished a lot over the weekend and that most things on my to do list have been completed.

This morning I am experiencing a huge amount of anxiety and stress.

I have a meeting with co-workers at my job that I am not looking forward to. Spending an entire weekend worrying about a job just doesn't feel right. It is meant for relaxation, to de-stress and live two days carefree and happy.

As much as I would have loved to experience this, unfortunately it did not happen.
I am doing my best to keep it all together and relieve myself of worrying and thinking too much.

Although this feeling was felt from Friday at 5 until now I am looking forward to making the best of the week. My goal is to start fresh, do my best to manage my time and tasks and come up with a plan of attack.

This weekend I got away from "reality" and had a fun weekend with my mom. She always calms me down, makes me laugh and shows me that life doesn't have to be so bad sometimes.

So in pictures here is how my weekend went down:

My main goal was to find new boots for the fall and winter. Mission accomplished!

You can't experience a weekend without one fruity drink in your life.

We wore Madison out shopping so she needed a little down time. I tried to sleep but my obsession with pinning didn't allow for that.

During my time at the mall I found some really great outfits which is amazing because I usually can't find anything. I was happy to add some new things to my fall wardrobe. Madison had me cracking up, such a little photo bomber!
We reunited with some old friends and Madison had a great time playing dress up with the kiddos.

Ending the weekend with a Colts win made for a great weekend.
I pray that the Lord gives me strength, patience and determination to get through this day and the rest of the week.
I really am looking for a sign in the right direction.

Reliving The Moments

As I was growing up I was the person who said I would never ever have kids. I think we all say that at some point in our lives but then you grow up and become a different person. You start to realize what is important for you and where you are going in life. For me that was having a child.

One day I woke up and thought I really want to have a baby. I want to nurture, teach and love a child of my own.

Four and a half years ago my world changed. I became a mom and every day since I have spent sharing all of the wonderful memories I had growing up. Showing her the fun things in life.

Some could say she is spoiled and that she has experienced more in her four years of life than anyone has in a lifetime. I have chosen to spend every day living life to the fullest. My world that use to revolve around myself now revolves around her. Her happiness is my happiness. I couldn't love a human being more than I love her. She has my heart forever.

We were a little bummed to find out that the Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 movie we have been waiting for all summer doesn't come out until next weekend. So like almost every other weekend I took Madison on a few other adventures.

Friday:
We enjoyed a nice dinner at On The Border with my mother and I am now in love with their Citrus Margaritas. I am definitely on the hunt for that drink recipe! I even managed to color coordinate my mani to my drink! We also did a little shopping for a secret mission item that will be revealed at a later time :) Shhhh...don't tell!

Saturday:
Madison and I spent the entire day out shopping but first had to get our sugar fix with Dunkin Donuts! Good thing sweaters and loose long sleeve shirts are in my future! Those small bites of deliciousness really pack on the calories!
Our daily weekend visit to Target ended in the result of us owning yet another furry creature, Spazzy. Which has now been named Tinker Bell. I am sure it will change again soon.
I spent about an hour reading my new book of the "Beautiful" Series. I think there are five books total and so far I am in love with them all!

Sunday:
Since the hubs worked the entire weekend, Madison slept in my bed. We snuggled and watched Sunday morning cartoons until around lunch time and then decided that the weather was too nice to spend the day inside. We took a little trip to our favorite apple orchard, Apple Works where we had a ton of fun! The drive was beautiful, the animals were fun to see and the apple cider slushies were Amaaazzzinnnggg as usual!

So as you can see we had a very busy but wonderful weekend! In all I might have skipped my daily household chores or have one too many shows building up on my DVR but that can all wait. This is the moment and we have to enjoy each and every second of it. Kids grow up fast, life flies by in an instant and loved ones come and go. You only live once is a very true statement! Never take a single moment for granted. Don't listen to anyone who judges you. Listen to your heart, think with your head and do what makes you happy.

Happy Monday! Instead of complaining, focus on what you do have, who loves you and what you can do to make a difference. Life is too short for stress and negativity!

Go Go Gadget or Princess?

If I had done one more thing this weekend I would have shocked myself. I say all week that I plan to sit around and relax but when 5 pm on Friday arrives I transform into go go gadget mode. I amaze myself at what energy my body possesses and all of the accomplished tasks that are completed. I was very productive and had a ton of fun in the process. There is something about cleaning my house that is therapeutic. Seeing the end result and smelling the aroma of my new sweet cinnamon pumpkin candle filling every inch of my house is amazeballs. Thank you Bath and Body Works for the AMAZING deals this weekend!
In photos, come see what filled my weekend with laughter, smiles and joy!
After scouring every inch of 5 stores we finally ended up at Wal-Mart to get Madison's new toy bin. Saving a little money and deciding against a toy chest I settled on this purple toy eater.

I also needed something to put all of Madison's shoes in! She owns almost as many as I do so we needed the extra storage! This perfect pink ottoman fit all of her shoes and was a very stylish asset to her newly decorated room!

I have been eyeballing these Rocket Dogs for weeks now and they finally went on sale plus a great deal of buy one get one half off! I'm loving that I have found my new shoes for the fall season!

We met up with some friends for dinner at Hal's Las Vegas Saturday night and had some really amazing food!  Jackpot shrimp is a must!

I took the plunge and tried out the flight of martinis! I am not a huge fan of martinis but some of these flavors I will be ordering again. I love trying new flavors and experiencing new tastes.

Most women would agree that dessert is the best part! The chocolate lava cake with ice cream is fabulous!

My best friend and I devoured the dessert and had a great time having girl talk. Even though the guys spent too much time talking politics and sports with other local people we managed to have a good time among ourselves. Her hubs makes a great photographer!

Once all of the materials were bought for Madison's room I spent yesterday morning putting her room back together. All of the toys are finally picked up, organized and cleaned.

I am so happy with the Ikea bed and shelving unit we purchased and seeing Madison model each piece makes my heart happy.

I invited my mom out to walk downtown Indy and pick up a latte at Starbucks. Madison insisted on bringing her baby doll with her but gave it to me to carry, of course. So we spent the night laughing hysterically because people around us thought it was a real baby. We even had a guy say "why are you carrying your baby like that? I thought it was a real baby!" Cause I'm one of those moms. Gessh. Come on people!

My mom generously took us on a carriage ride around town. It was Madison's first time and she really felt like a princess. I even came up with a clever Dos Equis type of quote for the night "We ride horses....but when we do we ride princess style!"

We ended the weekend with pizza and the Miss USA pagent!
Did the girl you predicted to win come in first place?

Happy Monday to all of my bloggy friends, may we endure this day with a positive and uplifting attitude!
