Check, Check, Double Check

On any given Monday you can usually catch myself or any other blogger writing a post to recap our weekend.
via
As I said Friday today's post would be a little different.
Why not recap all of the productive things accomplished over the weekend?
Yes, we all love to brag about all of the great partying we did or cool places we visited but what about all the hard work and time we took to complete tasks looming in our minds?
How many of us make a to do list and life gets in the way? Why make a list to just sit it to the side or trash it at a later date.

So, Friday I made that list, checked it twice like Mr. Jolly Santa Claus himself and went to town.

1. I finally got to watch Madison rehearse for her up and coming dance recital at the end of November on Thursday. I recorded the dance and we have practiced for the last two days! I have a lot of confidence that she is going to do very well!

2. As far as my Autumn decor, as much as I want to unload the bins from my basement and decorate the house I feel like Halloween is pretty much the end to that, which occurs in four days. I added it to the list but I am too excited about Christmas to even care about a few fall leaves and pumpkins sitting around.  I made the executive decision to cross this one off.

3. My two bffs are always there for me and I felt the need to let them know. I never see the point in spending $5 on a card that will be thrown in the trash so I decided on an e-card instead. I loved their responses and knowing that I brightened their day!

4. As you can see the "Wall of Fame" (our cork board of loves) is in the process of being updated! I am currently choosing current pictures to add to the board! I finally removed the past ones and cannot wait to share with you the completed project!

(In Progress)

5. I have a hard time picking dates that coordinate with my sisters busy schedule. As a newlywed, she loves her hubby to be so much that we hardly get any girls time! I sent the text and I am awaiting a set date for our girl time! Crossing my fingers it is soon!

What Approach Will You Take?

via
A Monday morning always seems to be the most difficult day of the week for me.
I miss the weekend, time spent with friends and family and nothing about my Monday is something that I look forward to.

I give myself Sunday evening pep talks and try to motivate myself to make it through the day.
I remind myself to smile even though my heart and mind is somewhere else and to stay focused on making it back to Friday.

I hate to wish time away but work is not where I want to be from 8 to 5.
I enjoy my time outside of the work place too much, but who doesn't?

If you are anything like me you try to find the small things that make you happy. Taking time to find things that might cheer you up. A Starbucks latte, a picture on your background screen at work, seeing the sunrise on your way into work and so on.

I am here to share some of the phrases that have sent me to a happy place.
Reminding me of what I do and why I do it.

Here is a little Monday motivation for your day!

 Remember to smile.
Remember to appreciate the little things.
Remember that you are doing all that you can and that is the best you can do.

Most of all, when surrounded by all of the Debbie Downers, hold your head high and never let the negativity steal your spirit.
Positive thoughts warm the heart and calm the mind.
Will you try this approach today?

Happy What Day?

From the looks of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter everyone and their mother visited a pumpkin patch or apple orchard this weekend.
I would be one of those people.
Our forecast consisted of sunshine, a cool steady breeze and temperatures in the mid 70's.
Last year, I remember being bundled up in fleece hoodies, beanies and boots!
This year consisted of boots only and that was simply a fashion statement.

The weekend was a little more on the relaxing side which is a change from the normal crazy roller coaster ride my life has been on.

1. Friday, Madison had her first field trip to the pumpkin patch with her preschool! They picked out their own pumpkins, made t-shirts and took a class photo! So cute!

2. Madison (sporting her t-shirt) and I went and saw Monsters University at the dollar theatre. It is always nice to spend some QT together and on a budget! The movie was hilarious! Of course we stuffed our faces with popcorn making it that much better!

3. Saturday we attended a friends wedding where we met some new friends, had a wonderful dinner and spent the night listening to great music! I even got to wear my little black dress and new red flats!

4. Sunday we went with my family to the pumpkin patch! It has to be my favorite all time fall activities! Madison picked out three mini pumpkins while I took one too many photos! She is a little poser and I love it!

There is nothing better than forgetting about the housework, putting off the responsibilities and living life to the fullest. I am grateful to have the circle I have and know that so many people are supportive and love me. It definitely makes starting a Monday morning a little easier even though it is Columbus Day which has no effect on my work day.

Happy Monday to you! What do you have to look forward to this week?

Back To Life, Back To Reality

via
On most Monday's I feel refreshed. I feel like I accomplished a lot over the weekend and that most things on my to do list have been completed.

This morning I am experiencing a huge amount of anxiety and stress.

I have a meeting with co-workers at my job that I am not looking forward to. Spending an entire weekend worrying about a job just doesn't feel right. It is meant for relaxation, to de-stress and live two days carefree and happy.

As much as I would have loved to experience this, unfortunately it did not happen.
I am doing my best to keep it all together and relieve myself of worrying and thinking too much.

Although this feeling was felt from Friday at 5 until now I am looking forward to making the best of the week. My goal is to start fresh, do my best to manage my time and tasks and come up with a plan of attack.

This weekend I got away from "reality" and had a fun weekend with my mom. She always calms me down, makes me laugh and shows me that life doesn't have to be so bad sometimes.

So in pictures here is how my weekend went down:

My main goal was to find new boots for the fall and winter. Mission accomplished!

You can't experience a weekend without one fruity drink in your life.

We wore Madison out shopping so she needed a little down time. I tried to sleep but my obsession with pinning didn't allow for that.

During my time at the mall I found some really great outfits which is amazing because I usually can't find anything. I was happy to add some new things to my fall wardrobe. Madison had me cracking up, such a little photo bomber!
We reunited with some old friends and Madison had a great time playing dress up with the kiddos.

Ending the weekend with a Colts win made for a great weekend.
I pray that the Lord gives me strength, patience and determination to get through this day and the rest of the week.
I really am looking for a sign in the right direction.
