Rumor Has It

Anyone else agree that it's a little easier to get out of bed when it is Friday anddddd wait for ittttt, rumor has it the weather is going to be 50 degrees!! What a heat wave, compared to the single digit temps we have been experiencing!

So because I had a pretty busy (more productive, less enjoyment) yet uneventful week I managed for once in my life gasp to only snap two pictures this week. Which means instead of my five highlights of the week, I'm going to share my five upcoming highlights!

1. I'm looking forward to spring scented candles and wallflowers from Bath and Body Works! I have yet to stop in and throw down a big Ben on those delicious items but I'll be there this weekend and cannot wait!

via
2. Madison's surprise princess for the day event was moved to this Sunday due to the monstrous winter storm we had last Sunday, a whopping two inches, so I can't wait for her to finally experience this fun day!

via
3. I try to hold off on the birthday planning for Madison for as long as I can simply because I tend to go overboard and spoil her rotten without intending to but with it being next month I think I'm in the clear, right?!?!?

4. I haven't went to the gym in about a week and can already tell my body is screaming for me to go back. I was going a couple times of week but lately it's been too busy to get a machine and the wait to tan is crazy. I'll be getting into the gym this weekend even if I have to wake up super early to do it!!
via
5. Pinterest has been and always will be my assistant for everything. A month ago I pinned new recipes and for almost three weeks created a meal based upon those never before made recipes. As much as I dread Wal-Mart I'll be scoping out the aisles for my new recipe items.

I'm all about planning for the future and enjoying what's in store in the days to come! Cheers to the freakin weekend!!

Weekend Summary

The older I get, the more I realize what a challenge it is to find good friends or new ones that stick around.
Luckily I have a few loyal old friends who have been awhile and here recently I've met some new couples who are indeed ones I want in my circle.

via
I've been trying really hard to maintain my friendships and work on our "circle". The day Madison was born I felt something in myself change. I totally get where the mother lion protects her cubs. I truly feel like a lion. I can be gentle and loving but once you mess with my family, game on.

So when it comes to who I want around myself that also includes my family. I guess I've outgrown the "partying" days. I would much rather spend the night watching movies, playing board games, drinking wine and going to bed at a decent time.

via
So the circle that I have been maintaining and the ones I would like in my life follow the same path. Ones who don't mind that children are present, that respect when it's time to go home, who like to have fun but keep it under control and who respect one another on a daily basis.
I'm over the drama, backstabbing and lying. I truly have become numb to apologies. Actions speak louder than words.

So long story short, in pictures, here's how I spent my weekend. With people who love us, respect us and I know will always have our back. Just ignore the calorie intake, whoops!

My bff Heather and her kids met us for lunch. A win, win! Panera and their company. Love these guys!

Saturday morning breakfast always makes me happy.

Madison's newest friend! Our girls night out (a new friend of mine) consisted of Outback and Chuckie Cheese! This is what a typical night out turns out to be and I loved every minute of it!

My favorite ice cream, daiquiri ice and jamoca almond fudge. It may sound gross but I can assure you it's delicious!

I know almost everyone loves Chick-Fil-A including ourselves! Our excitement says it all!

Last but not least, the weekend would not be complete without these bad boys! Terrible for you but wonderful for your taste buds! The best part? Using my punched reward card, FREE DONUTS!

Even though I ran my butt off all weekend, I felt the need after devouring all of these wonderful foods to hit the gym for some cardio. It always feels good at the end of the day knowing our circle is in a good place, there is always food on the table and we are all healthy. God is great!

Living For The Weekend

What a brisk, bitter and cold weekend it was here in Indy.
We gained another pile of snow and ice onto what was already enough for my liking and managed to drop into the single digits. Not. Cool. I. Repeat. Not. Cool. Can you say I'm ready for summer?!?!?
On a more positive note let me point out what did make my weekend so great!

via
My new toy and early Christmas present! Amazeballs! I couldn't be more excited! The Kindle HD is perfect for a girl like me. Social media, books, the web, games for Madison and anything else you could think of right at your fingertips. I am swooning over this delightful device.

My Christmas shopping is complete! Thanks to our amazing dollar store I filled a basket full of stocking stuffers! I even snagged all of the supplies to finish up my office gifts (reveal coming to the blog next week) I can't wait to pass out all of my goodies to everyone.

The adventures with Lucy continues! We are having so much fun with our little elf on shelf! Do you have an elf friend in your home?

We celebrated my little brother's birthday at Incredible Pizza! I can't believe that tomorrow is his thirteenth birthday. Time flies! He rode the go karts, played lots of games and had so much fun opening his presents. Seeing my other brother and sister was a treat too. Anytime we can all make it out to enjoy fun times like these it makes my heart happy.

Friday I received my Christmas bonus! Who doesn't love free money?!?!? I am so grateful that we have the opportunities that we do. Not many people receive bonuses, raises or anything for that matter. I am forever grateful.

Santa sent Madison a letter! I love seeing her get as excited as I do over these little things. I hope she passes all of these things onto her children some day!

Even though it is Monday, a smile will remain on my face because the countdown is on! Christmas is next week!!!

How was your weekend?

Cloudy, With A Chance Of Weekend

Something happened this weekend that has never happened, ever.
My parents went away for the entire weekend leaving my younger brother at home with my other brother to look after him.
I've never shared the story of my brother and all that he has endured but let's just say it was nice having some quality time with my two siblings.
Although we couldn't bribe my sister into joining us we had a fabulous time!

Friday night we had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant Mi Amigos and then spent the entire night trading Droid apps and tips for our phones. Needless to say, Robin (The Siri Challenger) is my new found friend.

Saturday was a day filled with lots of plans.
I started off the morning with a visit to Starbucks. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are my addiction!

I felt the need to spend more time with my brothers so we had lunch at Jacomos. I have heard the rave reviews about the pizza and I now know why. Some of the best pizza around town!

We took a trip to the park where we finally took some family photos with the help of a tree and a self timer. The weather was perfect.  I also got to spend time with my brother's girlfriend which rarely happens!

Madison and I ended the night with a nap, Chick-Fil-A and taking ridiculously funny selfies.

Yesterday it rained cats and dogs almost the entire day. We have been planning to go and see Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 for months now so it only seemed appropriate that we stay out of the rain and stuff ourselves with popcorn. The movie was awesome, the catchy phrases and the storyline made for one of the best children's comedies.

The rest of the day was relaxing. I burned my new favorite candle in an apple cider scent, took a power nap, straightened up the house, finished the laundry and made spaghetti for dinner.

A lot of quality time was spent with the family this weekend and many tasks were completed. Overall, I am grateful to have such loving people in my life and the ability to show Madison a wonderful life.

With a pumpkin spice latte in my hand, here's to making this Monday a positive and uplifting one!
Cheers!

Hello Weekend

Hellooooo Friday!
Can you hear the excitement in my voice?
I am ecstatic that this day has finally arrived.
I have been battling a cold this week so with lots of early bedtimes, rest and prayer I am feeling a little better this morning!
This week has been a uneventful but I am ok with that.
After the two trips to Ikea, all of the house cleaning and building I needed five days of not much to do.

So within those five days here are the exciting things that happened!

1. I am grateful that this weekend I have no major plans! A couple of nights might be spent with friends but I do not plan to party it up. I think a good glass of wine and some girl talk is about all I need!

2. I couldn't resist pulling out the new Ikea dishes and cups to use for dinner this week. I swung by Kroger picked up a seven course meal and spent the night filling my tummy with everything that is awesome! It's the little things like square plates that make your heart happy. (Something I have wanted for a long time)

3. With Madison's new bed built, she has stayed in her bed every night for the past week! She was coming into our bedroom multiple times a night waking me up and wanting to sleep with me. Had I known she was uncomfortable in her toddler bed I would have bought a new one sooner! I am loving that she is loving her new room!

4. My Birchbox arrived yesterday and it is filled with some pretty awesome products! Review to come Tuesday!

5. On my way home last night I couldn't help but admire the sunset. Sometimes we live each day and don't stop to enjoy the small things in life that are so beautiful. It brought a smile to my face knowing that I get to experience a life full of love and happiness.

So that is my weekly wrap up! Unlike the last two weeks I plan to not forget to link up! I laugh when I am sitting at work at ten and realize I never took a little visit over to Lauren's page and link up! Dee dee dee!

Have a wonderful weekend and to those of you who read and comment on this little blog of mine, it makes my day!

3 Days Full

What's better than a weekend wrap up on a Tuesday?
I LOVE three day weekends!
I have always said that if I had every Monday off it would be the best thing.
Even though I spent most of the weekend doing things I enjoy instead of things that were a priority to get done I still managed to do a lot!

Here are the highlights on my holiday weekend!

Friday:

Mine and Madison's favorite thing to do when the hubs works late is go to the dollar movies! (Apologies for the dark theatre pic)
So we decided to go and see Turbo this week. If you have a little one at home or even a little kiddo you can take, go see this movie! It was absolutely hilarious and a winner in my book. Madison even sat through the entire thing without budging! Totally worth the $2!

Saturday:

Probably my favorite day of the whole weekend! Spending time with friends and venturing up to a newer hot spot, Latitude 39.
They are known for arcade games, bowling, concerts and food!
We didn't get to enjoy the bowling and food part of it but the games were fun. Madison always has the time of her life running around soaking in the flashing lights, sounds and prizes.
We spent the rest of the night at our friends house relaxing the night away.

Sunday:

Sunday happened to be the busiest day of all!
Madison and I woke up Sunday morning and went and picked up her bff Cash and his mother for a fun filled day at the pool! Even though it closed yesterday we got the last weekend to enjoy great weather and great time spent together. The kiddos were off and running in no time and had a blast splashing around! I loved seeing their smiling and laughing faces!
We also stopped by the grandparents house to visit my newest nephew, Jax. I could seriously sit and stare at him all day!

I also had borrowed two books from my bff the night before. Beautiful Disaster being one of them. I finished the book Monday afternoon and loved reading every page. I hardly ever read unless I am hooked from chapter one so it was a delightful and relaxing experience to be able to sit down and enjoy a good book! If you haven't read it I highly encourage you to do so!

Monday:

This was the day I jumped for joy when I woke up at 9:30 and realized that besides my vacations I never get a Monday off! It was going to be a great day!
We spent the day eating lunch at Ralston's (the pretzels are to die for), grabbed dessert at Subzero (an ice cream parlor that whips up their creations all from scratch and uses Nitrogen to freeze it together) and soaked in the sun rays that beamed down on us!

I had a pretty great weekend as you can see! It's nice to settle down, take things one day at a time and enjoy the atmosphere.
Anything exciting happen in your part of the world?
